As a part of plastic injection molding business, the company strives to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society. We are actively engaged in the prototyping and development of environmentally friendly products.

Manufacturing the environmentally friendly products

For the past 30 years, our company has been involved in the production of plastic injection molds. Thousands of molds have been manufactured, leading to the production of a wide range of plastic products.

Plastic, or synthetic resin, has been in use since the 1900s and has experienced significant global popularity after the war. It has played a crucial role in improving people's lives. Plastic continues to evolve and develop, with engineering plastics being used in applications such as space shuttles, aircraft, lightweight and fuel-efficient vehicles, and durable bridges. General-purpose plastics also continue to be widely used, and further development is expected in the future.

As a company operating in the plastic industry, we have been actively exploring ways to contribute and make a positive impact. Several years ago, research was initiated into the utilization of biodegradable plastics, which naturally decompose and return to the environment. The focus has been on developing durable disposable plastic products that are environmentally friendly. This approach aligns with the goal of addressing environmental concerns and making a contribution to a more sustainable future.

Contributing to SDGs

SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are universal goals adopted at the United Nations Summit in 2015 with the aim of achieving a sustainable and better world by 2030. There are 17 goals and 169 targets outlined.

As part of the plastic business, KOEI TOOL Group’s commitment lies in the development of environmentally friendly technologies and products. Within the 17 goals, the group prioritizes two specific SDGs「12: Responsible Consumption and Production」and「14: Life Below Water. 」The aim is to creating a sustainable society through the business activities.

Reuse and washable Eco-Straw

Aiming for the trend of reusable straws, the company has made repeated efforts over the course of two years, and has now successfully prototyped and developed a plastic-based 'Reusable Eco-Straw' that can be washed and used repeatedly.

A reusable eco-friendly straw has been developed, which can be washed and used multiple times, aligning with the current trend. The aim is to promote awareness of this eco-straw and encourage businesses to collaborate for its commercialization. Molds are provided for wide distribution, allowing companies to incorporate their own branding. Patents have been obtained for straw-related technologies (No. 6644301, Jan. 2020), and prototyping of coaster made by biomass plastics from materials like coconut husks and rice is also underway.
